A Look at the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M “Commander’s Watch”, a Throwback to the Original 007 Seamaster

During a special celebration in London today a few weeks ago, OMEGA proudly unveiled the Seamaster Diver 300M “Commander’s Watch” Limited Edition.  As we show here, this new timepiece celebrates the rank and regalia of the historic 007 James Bond.  In true 007 style, guests were transported by boat along the River Thames on a cruise before arriving at Tate Britan, for a celebratory evening fit for a spy.  OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann was joined by Bond film producer Michael G. Wilson, who both revealed the timepiece during an introductory speech at the cocktail reception.

Cased in 41mm stainless steel, the “Commander’s Watch” pays special homage to Mr. Bond’ rank as Commander. It follows the Royal Navy’s ensign colors with a polished white ceramic dial and blue bezel insert, facetted blue skeleton hour-minute hands and a varnished red second hand with a “007” gun logo as is typical of Omega James Bond edition watches.  The watch is presented on a 5-stripe blue, red and grey polyamide NATO strap, with an additional metal bracelet.

The timepiece is powered by the automatic mechanical OMEGA Calibre 2507. The 007 “gun” logo is also found on the rotor; it’s a rather nice view through the caseback:

The stainless steel version is “limited” to 7,007 pieces.  A version in 18K yellow gold model — with ceramic bezel and white ceramic dial — will also be produced. This gold model is truly limited — just seven pieces….though I must say the look is not to my liking.
