Pharrell Williams is probably one of the coolest dudes in show biz (in my oh-so-humble opinion), so it should come as no surprise that he rocks an equally cool watch. While on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this week promoting Hidden Figures, a movie that he both produced and wrote the soundtrack for, Pharrell could be seen sporting the Richard Mille RM 031 High Performance. Impressive.
The titanium RM 031 High Performance features a manually-wound caliber with a direct impulse AP escapement. This escapement was actually developed by Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi (APRP) for Audemars Piguet, as you could probably guess by the name, and is a sort of hybrid of a detent escapement and a Swiss anchor escapement. What does that mean? Basically, this is an incredibly accurate watch with a variation of less than 30 seconds per month. Oh and did we mention that it was produced in a limited edition of 10 pieces back in 2012 and retails for $ 980,000? Yeah.

It’s worth mentioning here that Ellen herself is a watch collector of some note. We spotted her wearing a vintage Rolex Daytona ref. 6265 (in solid gold, no less) earlier this year when she interviewed President Barack Obama.
